ACP Presents: Making Cents - Military Pathways with Wells Fargo
On April 25th, ACP was joined by Wells Fargo for an inside look at the company’s culture and hiring strategies. Wells Fargo is a diversified, community-based financial services company with approximately $1.9 trillion in assets. Wells Fargo was ranked No. 41 on Fortune’s 2022 rankings of America’s largest corporations. Wells Fargo currently has more than 9,000 self-identified Veteran employees. They provide ongoing training and support to their Veteran employees throughout their careers, including a newly-launched Military Talent Orientation for all Veteran employees.
Our Panelists were John Axtell, Military Apprentice Program Liaison and U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, and Jarren Wall, Military Talent Liaison and currently serving as a U.S. Army National Guardsman. They spoke about their experiences at Wells Fargo and also shared information about Wells Fargo’s Military Apprenticeship Program. The apprenticeship is structured by the Department of Labor to provide long-term experiential on-the-job training (1+ years), which will result in certification of specific skill sets to help applicants meet the basic qualifications for full-time roles. In return, Wells Fargo offers a unique supplemental training for Veterans. The event was followed by a Q&A.
