ACP Presents: BNP Paribas - So You Want To Be A Trader?
On April 13th, ACP was joined by BNP Paribas for an inside look at the company’s culture and hiring strategies. BNP Paribas is the European Union’s leading bank and a key player in international banking, operating in 65 countries with nearly 190,000 employees. BNP Paribas' mission is to contribute to a responsible and sustainable economy by financing and advising clients according to the highest ethical standards. Their clientele evolves around individuals, community associations, entrepreneurs, SMEs, corporates and institutional clients where they hone their prospective projects through financing, investment, savings, and protection insurance solutions.
In addition to supporting military hires, BNP Paribas has a team of more than 40 Diversity Officers promoting and pursuing an active policy of D&I every day. Inhouse and externally they have proactive initiatives in 5 key areas: Professional equality between women and men, Disability, Multiculturalism and diversity of origins, Gender and LGBTQIA+ and Age and intergenerational relations.
Our panelists were Lina Carollo, Vice President of Talent Sourcing, and Jeremy Rosen, Managing Director and Head of Delta One Solutions, Americas. They discussed what trading is and how you can transition into the industry. They highlighted the company's work culture, being flexible to work-life balance, and encouraging time allotted for learning, which means they will be flexible for you to obtain the certifications needed for the role if you come in without it. The event was followed by a Q&A.
