Dr. Lynda Davis
Dr. Davis is nationally recognized for her leadership in customer experience and the development and implementation of significant and sustainable customer service programs in the government and non-profit sectors that successfully improve the delivery of care, benefits and services for military personnel, veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors.
A former Army Signal Officer and the mother of a veteran, Dr. Davis most recently served as the Chief Veterans Experience Officer for VA where she lead the results-driven culture change commitment to customer service that resulted in increased trust scores and serves a model for whole of government CX.
Her previous government tenures included serving the Department of Defense as the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (MCFP), and at the Department of the Navy as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Military Personnel Policy (DASN MPP). She also served as the designated lead for the joint Department of Defense (DoD) and VA response to the recommendations of Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded Warriors promoting the consistent delivery of highest quality, comprehensive care by creating the DoD and VA Recovery Care Programs, initiating the use of comprehensive, family inclusive Recovery Care Plans and launching the National Resource Directory.
Prior to joining the VA, Dr. Davis served as the Executive Vice President at the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), the founder and Executive Director of the Military and Veteran Caregiver Network (MVCN), and as the CEO of a service disabled veteran owned small business specializing in education, training and health and human services.
A former clinician at a VA Medical Center, Dr. Davis served on the faculty of the Departments of Psychiatry and Public Administration at the University of Southern California. She earned a Ph.D. and a Masters of Public Administration with a specialization in Human Services Administration and a Masters of Arts in Community Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Davis’ voluntary service has included service on the Boards of the Veterans Advisory Council on Rehabilitation (VACOR), the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Military Service (DACOWITS), the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, Student Veterans of America, the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, and the National Council for Adoption.
